According to Performance Boat Club of Canada president Meghan Brousseau, “summer finally came to Canada” last weekend just in time for the Bruce Nicolle Memorial Charity Fun Run, the final event of the nonprofit charitable fundraising organization's season in Ontario, Canada.

“This is the 27th year in a row that a charity run has been held on these waters and it’s always a club favorite,” said Brousseau, who ran a 42-Fountain sportboat.
As a fun run rather than a poker run, last weekend’s event did not include card stops or hands. The $100-per-boat entry fee went toward expenses and the Children’s Wish organization. The club held a charity auction that, combined with the entry fees, raised more than $20,000 for the charity.

'It costs roughly $10,000 to grant one wish, and my goal was to grant at least two wishes,' said Brousseau. 'I am very happy and proud to report that thanks to the generosity of our members and sponsors, we met this goal.'
With the 2017 season complete, the Performance Boat Club of Canada board members will meet this fall to discuss and plan the 2018. In the meantime, Brousseau said, “People can join the club or become sponsors through the club’s website.'
